Making up an easy remedy for snoring at home is not as difficult as you might imagine it would be, however, it also doesn’t necessarily involve the “ingredients” and steps you might imagine. Sometimes the answer you need to sort out your snoring is very straightforward. Let’s investigate what  we mean by that and see if we can come up with a snoring remedy for you.

One thing that you might not have considered as a remedy for snoring is to lose some weight. If you are carrying excess weight, particularly if you are obese, too much body fat around your neck can cause the airway to be squeezed so that the throat gets blocked. The sound that we call snoring is made when air passes over this tissue. Excess body fat can also put pressure on the lungs especially when you’re laying down. This can cause wheezing and choking while sleeping but these sounds are not actually snoring, even though they may sound like it. Thinking more about your diet and exercise regime can actually be all you need for a home snoring remedy!

Menthol or eucalyptus can also be considered a home remedy for snoring. A lot of people use menthol rubs. When you have a cold or blocked nose making sure your sinuses are clear can stop you snoring. A little bit of menthol rub under the nose can help tremendously.

Another really simple remedy is Marjoram. It is sold in jars and you simply open the lid and keep it next to your bed at night. Your sinuses start clearing as the aroma permeates the room.

You can also use a vaporizer as a home remedy for snoring if you add a bit of menthol or eucalyptus oil to it. This will help to disperse the fragrance all night and keep you breathing freely for hours. Even a vaporizer or humidifier on its own can be considered a good home remedy for snoring as dry air can make your sinuses and throat dry as well.

Also, be aware that you don’t just have to stick to one remedy. Using a couple in conjunction can be very beneficial.
