play-buttonIn a world of fast food and multi-tasking during meals, try mindful eating to break this busy cycle and achieve some inner peace…

The video describes how to eat an orange “mindfully”, but obviously it can be applied to any kind of food.

Here are the main steps to mindful eating:

  1. Find a comfortable and quite place and remove distractions
  2. Examine the food shape, texture and smell
  3. Think about the connection of the food to the world
  4. Eat slowly and deliberately, paying attention to all your senses
  5. Notice your emotions as well

Mindful eating has some great benefits…

Besides the immediate effect of relaxation and stress relief, eating mindfully over time can help improve your overall health and body image… why?

Because you’d get used to eating only what, when and how much you really want to eat.

Plus – it can also make you happier and more motivated, because of the deep feelings of gratitude and appreciation while experiencing the food.

Sounds great, ha? I’m sure going to try it myself :-)
